PALISADE HEAD
Rope climbing mecca a little over an hour north of Duluth. Routes from 5.mellow to 5.hard, all of them overlooking that big ol' lake.
SANDSTONE
There's something here for everyone. Sport climbing, super good bouldering, and ice climbing (including farmed ice). As is with all crags that boast sandstone, stay off it if it's rained within 24hrs, sucka.
TAYLOR'S FALLS
The potholes! There's some really neat features here on unique and slick rock. Rope climbing and bouldering at all levels offered. Make sure to register with the office, it costs a whole lotta nothing.
SAWMILL
One of the best bouldering spots in the midwest. This forest is straight up magical, but climber beware, it's gonna beat ya up and make ya bleed.
SECTION 13
This is the rope climbing area located on the other side of the forest of Sawmill Creek Dome, so it makes for a great weekend of getting some rope and some boulder in between the two.
SHOVEL POINT
This place is a really good spot to bring people that are newer to outdoor rope climbing. Several massive anchors are installed for some of the more popular lines, so that makes anchor setup a breeze.
CRANE LAKE
Granite climbing in the midwest, I'll take it! Huge thanks to Sean Foster for getting after it and developing this spot for both rope and bouldering, it's pretty damn rad.
NIPIGON
I'm no ice climber, but apparently this place is good, like real good.
